Twice Smoked Ham

Merry Christmas! There are only a few days left before the holiday, and if you still haven't finalized your dinner plans yet, we are here to introduce our Twice Smoked Ham. A little fun fact, meat labeled with "ham" has already been cured and pre-smoked which is why it is called twice smoked since the ham will be smoked again. What's great with this dish is you can serve the ham with either honey glaze if you prefer it sweet, or with the BBQ rub only if you like the ham smoky, and you'd still get that juicy flavor. Serving this dish would surely leave your guests craving for more.

Ingredients:

Honey Mustard Sauce

  • 3 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup honey

  • 4 tbsp spicy brown mustard

  • 4 tbsp yellow mustard

Direction:

  1. Preheat the smoker at 225˚F with hickory wood chips.

  2. Lightly smear ham with yellow mustard and season with BBQ rub.

  3. Smoke the ham for 3-4 hrs.

  4. After removing the ham from the smoker, prepare the glaze. Mix brown sugar, honey, spicy brown mustard, yellow mustard. Either simmer on low heat in a pan or microwave on high for 30 secs to thoroughly mix. Stir the mixture afterward.

  5. Slice the ham and place it in a cooking pan. Brush the slices with the Honey Mustard sauce.

  6. Broil in the oven for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens. Be careful not to burn the ham.

  7. Allow cooling for about 5 mins before serving. Enjoy!
