Chimichangas are deep-fried burritos stuffed with savory fillings such as meat, beans, rice, and cheese. But nothing could go wrong when trying out new dishes like making a dessert version of a chimichanga. Following this recipe is like making a traditional cheesecake but is wrapped in a tortilla and coated with sugar. Try this recipe and have a sweet strawberry-filled bite!
Ingredients:
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 cups chopped strawberries
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 tsp lemon zest
4 flour tortillas
2 cups cinnamon sugar
Melted chocolate, for drizzling
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, chopped strawberries, sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon zest. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Heat pan with butter. Meanwhile, lay a tortilla and spread cream cheese mixture. Roll tortillas up like a burrito.
Cook until golden on both sides for about 4 mins per side. Immediately, cover the cooked chimichangas in cinnamon sugar.
Add chocolate chips and melt or drizzle with melted chocolate on top before serving.
