Today, John is going to make a fish that we make every year for Christmas Eve.

As Italian-Americans, there are some traditions we try to keep and the Feast of the Seven Fishes is one of them. We may not always have seven but usually have at least four.

Shrimp Scampi
Ingredients:
2 Tbsp + 1 Tbsp Butter
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 lb Large Shrimp, peeled and deveined
3 cloves Garlic, minced
1/2 tsp Italian Seasoning
1 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
2 Lemons
1/2 cup Chicken Stock
Fresh Parsley, for garnish
Salt & Pepper
1 lb Thin Spaghetti
Directions:
1. Put 2 tbsp of butter and olive oil in heated pan
2. Add one layer of shrimp to heated pan season with salt and pepper to taste and sauté for 1-2 minutes on one side (until just beginning to turn pink), then flip for another 1-2 minutes
3. Once all shrimp is cooked, add 1 tbsp to pan and garlic, Italian Seasoning, and red pepper flakes While garlic is browning add juice of 2 lemons and chicken broth
4. Add shrimp back to pan with butter sauce, add salt, pepper, and parsley
5. Cook spaghetti according to package directions
Fried Shrimp
Ingredients:
1 lb Shrimp
2 Tbsp Milk
3 Eggs
3 cups Flour
1/2 tsp Italian Seasoning
Salt & Pepper
Oil
Directions:
1. Heat oil in a pan
2. Beat eggs and milk together in a bowl to make egg wash
3. In a medium bowl or gallon size freezer bag mix flour, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper
4. Cover shrimp in the egg wash and then cover with flour mix
5. Add floured shrimp to pan of oil
6. Cook 3-4 minutes until golden brown
7. Place cooked shrimp in a paper towel lined bowl
