We all know grocery stores' different pancake mix brands, but have you tried making it from scratch? No worries, because JBros will teach you how. Our mini guest chefs, Julianna and Bethany, are here to demonstrate the JBros way of making pancakes. Following the recipe is easy and will give you a lot of fun making. What a great way of starting the morning, am I right?
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp canola oil
2 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp Cinnamon sugar
2 tbsp maple syrup
3/4 cup milk
butter or oil for frying
Optional: 1-2 add-ins:
1/4 cup grated apple or pear,
1/2 cup blueberries,
1/4 cup chocolate chips,
2 tbsp walnut bits
Toppings:
Butter
Peanut butter
Maple Syrup
Directions:
Mix flour, egg, salt, oil, powder, cinnamon sugar, and maple syrup in a large mixing bowl. While whisking, pour in the milk. The batter should be lumpy.
Gently stir in the add-ins of your choice. Do not stir too much, or the pancakes will be dense.
Lightly butter or oil a nonstick frying pan and warm it on the stove on medium heat for about 1 minute. Turn the heat to medium-low; using a 1/4 cup measuring cup pour the batter for each pancake into the pan one at a time.
When the tops of the pancakes start to bubble, carefully flip the pancakes over with a spatula. Continue cooking until the undersides are golden brown.
Serve warm with butter, peanut butter, and maple syrup. Enjoy!
