Have you ever wondered if it is possible to make a burger made of donuts? Yes, there’s no mistake for it exists! It is called “Luther Burger” also known as the doughnut hamburger. A few trivia, this bacon cheeseburger is named after the R&B singer Luther Vandross and the first mention of it was in a 2006 episode of "The Boondocks”. Since then, it has become a popular food at fairs, restaurant menus, and best for cheat days and special occasion splurges. Beware though, a single serving of this burger consists of more or less 1,669 calories, but it is worth the taste.
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef, made into patties
6 Bacon Slices
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp garlic
1 glazed donuts
4 slices American Cheese
Directions:
Place burger patties and bacon slices on the preheated griller. Cook for 3-5 mins before seasoning with salt, pepper, and garlic.
Flip patties and grill for another 3-5 minutes or until juice run clear. Season again with salt, pepper, and garlic.
Melt cheese on top and set aside.
Meanwhile, cook bacon in the desired way and set it aside.
Then, cut glazed donuts in half to make a top and bottom "bun". In a skillet over medium heat, place the donuts and toast for 2-3 mins until golden brown.
To build the burger, stack the ingredients in this order for a better taste experience: bottom bun, patty with cheese, cheese, bacon, then repeat by adding another patty with cheese, cheese, and bacon. Finish with the top bun.
Serve while hot. Enjoy
