Nothing would make the Italian Pork Sandwich better than making it in your own kitchen. This sandwich is our JBros version of the classic chicken parmesan– might seem fancy, but it is easy and simple to make. A quick note for the breaded porkchop to remain crispy and juicy– do not drown it in sauce and cheese. Just a bit of sauce and cheese on top and some buns et voilà! A crunchy, and oozingly satisfying Italian Pork Sandwich.
Ingredients:
4 ciabatta rolls or crusty Italian bread
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
2 tbsp fresh milk
salt and pepper to taste
freshly grated Parmesan
1/4 cup vegetable oil
4 pork cutlets (3/4 pound total)
1/2 cup dried breadcrumbs
1 cup marinara, warmed
4 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced
4 slices Provolone Cheese
Directions:
For the breading, crack two large eggs in a mixing bowl and whisk them together with two tablespoons of fresh milk. In a separate bowl, add breadcrumbs and season with salt and pepper. Mix with parmesan cheese.
Prepare a medium pan with vegetable oil for frying. Dip pork cutlets in the egg wash and cover with breadcrumbs. Place on heated oil and fry until golden brown and flip. Cook for about 5 mins.
Drain excess oil by placing breaded pork on dry paper towels or a strainer tray. Add marinara sauce, parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese slices, and provolone cheese slices on top.
Broil on high heat in the oven until cheese is melted, approximately 1 minute. Slice the rolls and place the meat.
Serve while still hot. Enjoy!
