Garlic Parmesan Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Happy New Year everyone! And a great way to celebrate this new year is by starting right. Today we will present a healthy and nutritious meal called the Garlic Parmesan Roasted Brussels Sprouts. Fun trivia, the brussels sprouts belong to the Brassicaceae family which also includes other vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, and kale. This recipe makes barbecues much better and encourages the kids to eat their veggies.


  • 16 oz (450g) Brussels sprouts, rinsed

  • 3 tbsp olive oil (or melted butter)

  • ½ tsp kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese, or to taste


  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C)

  2. To prepare the roasted Brussels sprouts: Cut off the bottom of the Brussels sprouts and slice it in half, from top to bottom.

  3. Dry the Brussels sprouts with paper towels and place in a large bowl. Season the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt and pepper, Italian seasoning, garlic cloves and powder, onion powder, and parmesan cheese. Ensure that the Brussels sprouts are handled gently and are evenly coated.

  4. Place the Brussels sprouts on a baking sheet, spreading evenly into one layer. Bake the parmesan Brussels sprouts on the center rack for 25 to 30 mins – adjust the time depending on your oven, the vegetables should be golden brown.

  5. Transfer the parmesan roasted Brussels sprouts to a large serving bowl and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley if you like.

  6. Serve and enjoy!
