~1/2 cup butter or margarine
~1 pint heavy whipping cream
~1 tsp garlic powder
~ 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
~salt and pepper to taste
~1 pound desired pasta
Melt butter in a medium sauce pan over medium/low heat.
Add garlic powder, cream, salt and pepper; bring to a simmer. If it reaches a rapid boil, turn down the heat so it doesn't boil over. Slowly add the cheese stirring while pouring in the cheese so it does not clump. Keep at a simmer for about 8 minutes stirring constantly, you do not want it more than a simmer.
While the sauce cooks, bring 4 to 6 quarts of water to a boil and cook pasta according to package directions.
Serve with desired protein.
